Adele and PJ Harvey have been honored as Members of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire. No, that isn't a Bill and Ted sequel, but rather a very haughty recognition from the royal family on that merry little island across the pond.
Both songstresses have been honored for their contributions to music and art. Adele's most recent album 21 topped the charts in over 30 countries and spent 23 weeks at number one in the UK. PJ Harvey has been at the cutting edge of UK pop for over two decades and has only smiled on three occasions since the release of her debut album Dry in 1992. Her most recent album Let England Shake won the Mercury Music Prize in 2011.
