Praise God! Praise Allah! Praise Adele! Adele has officially ended her vow of silence because of that pesky throat surgery thing she had to go through, and she will make her return to live performing at the 2012 Grammy Awards on February 12, 2012.
Call it a comeback, call it what you will, but Adele has confirmed on her official twitter page that she is joining the already prestige line-up of this years Grammy performers.
“Ima be, Ima be singing at the Grammys. It’s been so long I started to forget I was a singer! I can’t wait, speak soon xx,” writes Adele.
While the Grammys hasn’t official confirmed it yet, we’re going to take Adele’s word for it. I guess you could say, “Rumor Has It” that Adele is performing.
Before Adele made the twitter announcement, Grammy executive producer Ken Ehrlich had previously teased that Adele would be performing in the show.
“We are in discussions with Adele and we’re hoping her first appearance will be on the Grammys,” says Ehrlich. Mind you, this was before Adele broke the news.
Adele is joining an already impressive line-up that includes Coldplay, Rihanna, Paul McCartney, Kelly Clarkson, Jason Aldean, the Foo Fighters, Bruno Mars, Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift.
According to Ehrlich, this is the most robust Grammy Awards show ever. Apparently there will be 17 or 18 production pieces with about 22 songs being performed. I’m literally foaming at the mouth already. All you have to say is “performances by Adele and Nicki Minaj” and I’m there.
Adele is up for six Grammy Awards that night, so no matter what it’s a big night for her. The Grammys, will air live on CBS Sunday, February 12 at 8pm.
