Yes, it's about time they made this announcement. I have been trolling the internet waiting to hear this news and finally we can report that Adele, the golden child of the UK, is in "talks" to perform at the 2012 Grammys.
Ok, "in talks" is not as exciting as "confirmed" and I would rather it be written in stone, like literally etched in cement, that Adele is absolutely going to perform at the Grammys, but due to her recent throat surgery, she's not 100% sure she's ready to perform.
Can't she like suck on a popsicle and shotgun some honey? Obviousy, I am not a singer.
According to Radar, producers want Adele to open the show, "but she isn't able to give them an answer yet. She won't be able to give them an answer until the beginning of February, and they completely understand."
Her inability to commit is due to her still healing from surgery. She will be at the Grammys for sure, but we still don't know if she's singing yet.
"She has begun talking more," adds the source, "with her doctor's permission. Adele's best friend in recent weeks has been putting warm compresses around her neck to help the healing process of her vocal chords."
Maybe Adele should go the route of Kanye West and pen a post-operative song like West's "Through The Wire." No, too weird? Ok.
Well, only time will tell if Adele will perform at the Grammys, but the clock is ticking away.
The Grammys will air live from L.A.’s Staples Center on Sunday, February 12, at 8 p.m. on CBS.
