Adele Speaks For the First Time Since Throat Surgery

Adele has returned to her home in the UK since she underwent throat surgery in Massachusetts. She had an operation to remove a benign polyp that was causing her to loose her voice. I don’t know about you, but when I heard this news I put on “Set Fire to The Rain,” took a moment of silence for the singer and just watched a tub of ice cream melt.

Adele seems to be making a strong recovery and finally blogged about it on her official website.

"Sorry I haven't written for a while. Thank you for all your positive thoughts and get well wishes. I'm doing really well, on the mend, super happy, relaxed and very positive with it all. The operation was a success and I'm just chilling out now until I get the all clear from my doctors,” writes Adele.

Fans were afraid she might have had throat cancer, but it seems like she could be getting back to performing very soon. This is excellent news, because as long as Adele is out sick and cancelling performances, Glee will continue to do horrible covers and mash-ups of her hit singles, as if they think they’re doing us a favor. Hey Glee, you’re not.

Adele continues, “Thank you to everyone who voted for the awards I've won recently as well. Hugely appreciated. I best get back to practicing my mime show now. Take care, miss you all - Always adele xx.”

Adele went into surgery with the same doctor that has worked on other famous singers like Steven Tyler, Julie Andres, and Cher.

The hospital said in a statement, “Based on the advice of her doctor and voice therapist in the United Kingdom, Adele came to Boston to consult and undergo corrective voice surgery with Dr. Zeitels.”

Because of her surgery and needed recovery time, Adele has cancelled all performances for the rest of 2011. So if you cannot wait that long, her new concert film might film that void.

Adele’s brand-new “Live at the Royal Albert Hall” is one of those documentary concert flicks which features an hour and a half of straight singing. This film has none of those silly behind the scenes features where Adele talks to her make-up artist or is seen gurgling honey in a pre-show ritual. It’s just Adele, in a huge hair bouffant, singing all her hits from her 21 album. Adele also proves to have the dirties mouth in pop music. She says she can’t believe she’s performing at “Royal Albert F-cking Hall” and also says “I’m sh-ting myself.”

Did Adele just get suddenly less classy for you? Yep. Do you care? Nope, she’s still awesome.
