Adele's 'Rolling in the Deep' Wakes Young Girl Out of Coma

We all know that Adele’s got some serious musical chops… But Jesus-strength healing powers? Oh, yeah… we’re going there.

The mood was somber to say the very least. British mother Leila Neve was by her comatose seven-year-old daughter Charlotte's side, preparing to say goodbye. Hope was all but gone. But then Adele’s song “Rolling in the Deep” came on the radio. That was when Charlotte smiled.

“Charlotte started smiling and I couldn't believe it,” Leila told the UK’s Telegraph.

The young girl suffered a hemorrhage on April 13 of this year, after spending the evening watching DVDs with her mom and sister, Megan. She was rushed to the hospital where she received two life saving operations. Since then, she had endured a series of strokes.

Doctors worked to prolong her life since via surgery, but they did not expect for her to pull through. In the end, it was Adele’s miracle track that would tug little Charlotte out of the two-month coma.

Leila had climbed into bed with Charlotte, who was wired up with life support tubes, to embrace her child in a final snuggle. When the song came on, she began singing along, causing her daughter to react.

“I started singing it to her because she loves her and we used to sing that song together,” Leila said.

When Charlotte smiled for the first time, the whole room paused in an emotional shock. Nurses urged the mother to keep singing. She did and the young girl smiled again.

According to Spinner, several days after the drastic change of events, Charlotte began talking and was able to get up out of her hospital bed. She is reportedly recovering at home, where she will be returning to school and even taking up dance classes.

No doubt, “Rolling in the Deep,” will forever have a special place in the family’s playlist. After all, there’s no denying the parallels between Charlotte’s miracle tale and Adele’s incredible lyrics…

“There's a fire starting in my heart / Reaching a fever pitch / And it's bringing me out the dark…”
