Get ready for the British invasion! And no, for the first time in months I’m not talking about Adele.
UK boyband One Direction is getting their own Nickelodeon show, very much like that other Nickelodeon show about a boyband, “Big Time Rush.” This is information that will resonate with our 12-year-old readers.
The group finished third on the UK version of The X Factor in 2010 and now they have their own US TV show. Your move, The Wanted. (The Wanted is another boyband. Again, that reference will go over well with the pre-teens)
“The rumors are true, our live-action slate does include a development project for @onedirection. Welcome to the family!” said the official Nickelodeon twitter.
The group is made up of Louis Tomlinson, 20; Zayn Malik, 19; Harry Styles, 18; Niall Horan, 18; and Liam Payne, 18.
Basically, it’s a bunch of little Abercrombie boys that all look like someone Miley Cyrus would/should date. They’ve all got wispy haircuts and Justin Bieber swag. Which one is your favorite?! Mine is Zayn!
The band will also perform on the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards on March 31.
“A year ago we would never have expected any of this stuff that’s happening now,” Harry Style told People, “We just want to keep working hard and making sure we keep on delivering the best we can and having fun and we’ll see what happens.”
One Direction was mentored by Simon Cowell when they were on The X Factor.
