Bruce Springsteen Ends Adele's Reign on the Billboard 200 Chart

Someone has nudged Adele out of the top spot of the Billboard 200 chart. What pop starlet could possibly be better than Adele, to push her out of her throne…oh it’s Bruce Springsteen?

Adele has held the #1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart for 23 consecutive weeks, but this last week, Springsteen’s new album “Wrecking Ball” sold just 1,000 more copies than the UK songstress, putting him in the #1 spot.

Springsteen’s album sold 196,000 copies in its first week, but Adele only moved 195,000 copies in the same week, which is down 21% from previous weeks sales.

Springsteen’s top-spot means this is his 10th number one album in the U.S. He now ties Elvis Presley for the third-most number ones in history. He is only beat by Jay-Z (12 no. 1 albums) and the Beatles (19).

Over in the singles chart, Adele’s “Set Fire to the Rain” sits firmly in the number 3 spot. She is beat only by Kelly Clarkson’s “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)” and Fun.’s “We Are Young.”

But back to Bruce Springsteen. His album reached the number 1 album spot on the UK Billboard Album charts as well. Even in Adele’s home country he still beats her.

Now that Adele is reportedly in love, maybe her next album will be a hate-ode to Bruce Springsteen?
