Aerosmith and ZZ Top are joining forces and touring across the United States this summer! The band’s just confirmed three tour dates in Irvine, CA, Kansas City MO, and St. Paul, MN. The rest of the stops will be announced soon.
We’re actually surprised that Aerosmith is touring because of the recent health issues Joe Perry was having. But they’re hard at work now on their new album, which is slated to drop later this year.
Perry tells Rolling Stone, "The time we had allotted to make this record, we couldn't do it. But it's a work in progress and we're gonna shoot for it when we finish with this tour.”
Along with the upcoming Aerosmith album, Perry is also working on his next solo record, a follow-up to his 2005 studio effort, which earned him a Grammy nomination.
And ZZ Top is just as busy. They’ll be meeting up with Aerosmith right after coming off a month-long Europe tour. The 14-city European tour stretches from Prague, Czech Republic to Leicestershire, England. ZZ Top is also working on an album. The dates for the tour so far are as follows:
August 23 - Irvine, CA - Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre
September 1 - Kansas City, MO - Sprint Center
September 8 - St Paul, MN - Xcel Energy Center
