Alanis Morissette Announces Fall Tour Dates

August 13, 2012 By:

Alanis Morissette, possible American Idol judge, has announced the dates of her new fall “Guardian Angel Tour” in anticipation of the release of her new album, Havoc and Bright Lights.

The tour will run from August 25th through November 1st, and will hit venues in New Jersey, California, Nevada, British Columbia, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Colorado, Minnesota, Illinois, Ontario, Quebec, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, Maryland, Georgia, Tennessee, Texas and Arizona. So basically, sorry middle of the country! No Alanis for you.

The tour will be the “Ironic” singer’s 8th studio album and her first since leaving Maverick Records and releasing Flavors of Entanglement in 2008.
Said Alanis of the tour in a press release:

“The songs from the last 17 years are blending together like great friends. Thankfully, there is a timelessness in their content and passion, for me. The show covers the gamut of every chord choice and every emotion I have ever felt. I am spent afterwards, happily so. I am thrilled to be able to play and tour with my family, blending my personal and artistic fulfillment into one sweaty, feisty, expressed, communal traveling circus!”

It sounds like Alanis is desperately trying to hold on to her angsty, angry indie cred now that she’s rumored to be in talks to fill that third Idol chair. We’ll just have to wait until Havoc and Bright Lights comes out August 28th to see how well she did.
