Last year's VMA's were epic: Beyonce's pregnancy was made public (and generated over 8,000 tweets per second, a world record), and performers included Kanye and Jay-Z, Adele, Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars.
So far, the only performers announced for this year's show have been Alicia Keys and One Direction, The Boy Band That Spurred A Million Screaming Tweens. 1D is super excited (and nervous about their VMA debut), while veteran Alicia Keys promises to debut a new song she called "crazy."
As she was totally snubbed in the awards noms, we're really hoping to see a performance by Lady Gaga. It's a music awards pre-requisite now, isn't it? Frank Ocean, Carly Rae Jepsen and Nicki Minaj are also solid possibles, but all we can really do for now is make wild guesses and wait until September 6th.
We just hope this year's show lives up to classics like Madonna's 1990 Vogue-ing and Kanye's 2009 Swift hijacking. Who do you want to see (or not want to see) on stage this year?
