This girl is on fire. Alicia Keys stole the stage last night, performing her new single “Girl On Fire” during last night’s live episode of the “X Factor.”
Alicia, who burned up the scene when she debuted with her album Songs in A Minor and song “Fallin’” ten years ago, has some advice for contestants just starting on their musical journeys.
“Be yourself, live your passion, don’t try to be a version of someone else,” the 31-year-old singer tells Stereotude last night.
“Don’t think about the future, just focus on right now, doing what you love.” Great universal advice that could apply for anyone, not just aspiring vocalists. Sounds like Alicia might be a better judge than the other two singers of which we’ll leave unnamed who are already on the judging panel. This also sounds like an inspiring ballad for an Alicia song in the near future…We can only hope!
Her latest album Girl on Fire, the songbird’s first since 2009’s The Element of Freedom, tickled the ivories on the show yesterday, putting on a sensational set. Surrounded by taiko drums and back up dancers, Alicia belted her way into “X Factor” status.
