Arcade Fire is not a group that does “normal” very well. Their performance last night on “The Colbert Report” was no exception.
The band took the
stage stages under the pseudonym of The Reflektors, consistent with their secret show stint in NYC. Performers sporting Arcade Fire's now-classic fear-inducing glossy ceramic heads played in front of the show’s patriotic desk, as a giant Colbert head mouthed the words to "Normal Person." And (spoiler alert) about halfway through, the camera pans to reveal a stage with the real band. Otherwise, it was relatively twist free: They did a disco-lit version of “Afterlife,” and Win and Will Butler sat down for an interview.
Here’s everything that went down.
