Artist of the Week: Blake Lewis

We turn our attention now to Blake Lewis, a rare and multi-talented product of the network television singing competition revolution.

The Washington state-born singer had the early boost of being featured on “American Idol.”

And, while most musical journeys don’t start off with reaching tens of millions of viewers on a weekly basis, since his appearance on the show’s Season 6, Lewis has proven that he’s got the chops to sustain his big beginning.

Any avid “Idol” fan would be able to pick out the performer—part singer, part composer, part producer —from an alumni line-up solely based on his beatboxing abilities.

Since his appearance on the show, Lewis has been busy, releasing two studio albums, Audio Day Dream and Heartbreak on Vinyl, and touring with the likes of Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Wyclef Jean and The Crystal Method.

Today, he's in production on his third studio LP Portrait of a Chameleon. The album will feature his latest electro, future pop single “Your Touch.”

The song is full of massive swells, surprise beat drops, dancy synths, and a catchy chorus. More importantly, it promises big things on the way for the artist.
