All eyes on up-and-coming singer Josh Xantus.
The New York-based R&B act has experience working with big name producers like Swizz Beatz and the endorsement of icons like Stevie Wonder.
On the newcomer, Wonder said that he has the potential to “continue to carry out the legacy of being a musician that represents real music.”
For his sound, Xantus combines classic R&B vocals that evoke the likes of Ne-Yo and Usher and places them over an electronic bed of sounds. The effect is tracks that move, but paint plenty of emotion while they’ve got you there.
The singer has plenty of soul to make his chorus lines soar. In his new single “Wake Me,” the first track from his upcoming mixtape, The Antidote, due out in March, Josh sings about the torment of a faltering relationship:
“Wake me up if I’m dreaming through / You’re making it hard for me to sleep.”
The release features production from Music Man Ty, Los Da Mystro and Swizz Beatz.
Josh grew up with music in his blood. From the age of six he trained as a classical pianist. He attended Julliard but gave up the pursuit for a shot at his dream.
In his career so far, Josh has served as an opening act for Ne-Yo, Busta Rhymes, and Fabulous.
The singer has collaborated with Ghostface Killa in the past. In addition to Swizz Beatz, Josh collaborated with The-Dream on his debut album, Can I Live?
