Artist of the Week: Sabrina Antoinette

This week’s artist who’s finding their way into our ear buds is Sabrina Antoinette.

The singer has been signed by Chris Brown Entertainment and is on the rise in the pop rock music scene. Antoinette’s sound combines dance beats, love themes and a playful voice with a twinge of attitude.

Sprinkled on top are some definite Chris Brown R&B production touches as the songstress begins to define her brand for the masses. At the core, though, it’s all about reaching people with relatable tales.

“I like telling stories about my life and things that happen with my friends. It’s a nice little roller coaster for everybody,” she says in a statement.

A native of the music-rich state of Texas, Antoinette got her start in the business working as a DJ in Austin. But it was watching Elvis Presley on TV at the age of five that was her first musical inspiration.

“I saw him moving his hips and I thought, ‘I’m gonna be like that man!’” she says.

After singing at her cousin’s funeral at 13, Antoinette realized that she wanted to continue to connect with people on an emotional level through her singing.

Today, she writes and records under the CBE imprint, which she describes as an “amazing opportunity.” She was featured on Brown’s “Trumpet Lights” on his album Fortune.

She is currently playing a residency at The Foundation Room at House of Blues.
