Before they fell in love and decided to make a mad dash to the altar, Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger were making some sweet, sweet music together.
From the recording studios of which the two reportedly met, producer L.A. Reid confirms to Billboard that Avril’s upcoming album, the follow-up to Goodbye Lullaby, has a “really good record” with her now Canadian rocker fiancé to be included on the track list.
“We’re in the mixing process now,” Reid updates. “I’d like to get it out this year, but time seems to be flying. If we don’t it will be top of the new year.
Mark your Mayan calendars: If the end of days isn’t December 2012, it’ll hit when the song is released at the turn of 2013.
Avril and L.A. Reid have a relationship that goes way, way back to those super rebellious middle school days when she wore men’s neck ties full time. The “X Factor” judge at Epic Records discovered her circa 2000.
As for the much anticipated duet: “In my new record coming up, I think I want to start off by working with people I’ve never worked with before because that’s hard to do,” Avril said to MTV News last year.
“When you don’t know someone, you have to go in and you write together and you’re recording, you never know, you have to vibe together,” Avril added, an aside that is apparently a foreshadowing of her and Chad’s now highly-publicized romance.
Something tells me this one is going to sound like a love song?
