Oh, hey, Azealia Banks. We were wondering what you were up to.
The New York lyricist has been getting a lot of headlines this week following a series of big decisions. The main of which is the release of her new single “Yung Rapunxel” and moonlighting as a music industry insider.
Banks dropped a frantic club-beat-backed chant produced by Lil Internet. Listen to “Yung Rapunxel” here:
Now onto collaborations… Banks took to Twitter with a fan response in what appears to be confirmation of a long-rumored sequel to Lady Gaga and Beyoncé’s partnership on the mama monster’s “Telephone.”
This after Gaga and Bey were both pictured on Instagram with matching “ratchet” hoop earrings. The new track is said to feature all three of the singers.
Previously, during an appearance on Australia’s George FM, Azealia said:
“I like working by myself, not to say I don't like collaborating with other people but, like, I never know what to do. I can't really absorb the vibe … I'm lying because I've collaborated with Lady Gaga and Beyoncé and Kanye West.”
Some sources are even guessing at Rihanna being involved.
Stereotude has reached out to Gaga and Beyoncé’s team for comment on the collaboration. We’re standing by for a response.
Here’s the epic video for “Telephone” if you need a refresher…
