Pop/Rock band Barcelona is worth giving a listen to. Carefully crafting delicate piano melodies with pop rock hooks and radio sensibilities, this band fronted by talented singer Brian Fennell is a force to be reckoned with.
With their piano driven harmonies, Barcelona is what would happen if Snow Patrol, Arcade Fire, Coldplay and Radiohead decided to have a love child and then that love child listened exclusively to U2, Death Cab for Cutie and The Fray.
Hailing from the Seattle music scene, which brags giants like Death Cab for Cutie and Dave Matthew band, Barcelona is a breath of fresh air, but would never feel out of place on radio play.
Formed in 2005 in Seattle, Washington, Barcelona originally started as the solo project of lead singer Brian Fennell, who employed the help of his musician friends to back his solo shows, when he realized that they worked better as a band the foursome decided to form what we know as Barcelona.
Fennell has once described the bands sound as “we classify our music style as piano rock.”
Also, proving they hang with important people. Barcelona is performing with Dashboard Confessional this weekend at the House Of Blues in Los Angeles.
Their latest album, “Absolutes” released by Universal Music Group is out now.
