Beastie Boys Sued For Illegally Sampling Music
Just one day before Adam “MCA” Yauch of the Beastie Boys passed away, the band was slapped with a massive lawsuit.

Hip-Hop R&B label Tuf America filed the lawsuit on May 3rd alleging that the Beastie Boys illegally sampled four songs from the Tuf America label.

Mind you, these “illegal samples” occurred over 25 years ago.

The lawsuit claims that the Beasties sampled Trouble Funk’s song, “Say What” on the 1986 Beastie song “Hold It Now Hit It” as well as “The New Style” both on the bands debut album License To Ill.
Fellow Beastie Boys Open Up About Adam Yauch's Death
Adam Yauch, MCA of Beastie Boys, passed away on Friday after a three-year battle with cancer, and while an outpouring of love has been flowing freely on twitter and tumblrs from every music artist in the biz, MCA’s fellow bandmates have finally broken their silence on the loss of their friend.

Yesterday, Adam Howovitz (Ad-Rock) blogged a quick message on the bands tumblr. He wrote:

“As you can imagine, sh-t is just fkd up right now. But I wanna say thank you to all our friends and family (which are kinda one in the same)
