The Best and the Worst VMA Performances

We still can't get over all the amazing-ness that went on at last night's MTV Video Music Awards. Beyonce came, saw, and conquered, Ariana Grande blew it, and Sam Smith made everyone cry.

Here's the rankings of all the performances from last night, from best (obviously Beyoncé) to last:

Beyoncé killed the VMAs. She owned it. It was everything. She is life.

Nicki Minaj - "Anaconda"

Nicki's outfit, her flawless rapping, the twerking. We loved it all.

Sam Smith - "Stay With Me"

As always, Sam brought tears to everyone's eyes. He even got the emotionless robo-Kardashians singing along.

Iggy Azalea - "Black Widow" feat. Rita Ora

Rita was meh. Iggy was stunning. Raps on point. We'll give it a B.

Jessie J, Ariana Grande, Nicki Minaj - "Bang Bang"

This was a mess. Ariana couldn't sing. Nicki's dress was falling apart. Jessie J killed it out of the three.

Taylor Swift - "Shake It Off"

Her performance was cute. We loved the outfit, her male dancers, the Great Gatsby theme, but did you hear Taylor's voice? Here's a video of her performance with the vocals isolated.

Ariana Grande - "Break Free"

We don't know what was going on in Ariana's head. Maybe she was nervous? Her performance was so bad that I was cringing for her. You can tell she was trying really hard to sing while hitting all her dance moves. Not everyone can be a Beyoncé.

** Take note that we didn't include Maroon 5's performance because does anyone care?
