Beyonce’s first new single “Run The World (Girls)” is a fierce anthem, the stuff of pop royalty. Then she revealed her chilling debut performance of “1+1” on American Idol, now Queen B releases her next single “Best Thing I Never Had.”
The semi-ballad is in the same vein as “Irreplaceable,” and “If I Were a Boy.” Where Beyonce tells off a former lover in that machismo lady way that only B can pull off.
She croons, “you turned out to be the best thing I never had.” Beyonce ‘aint sad about it though, “you don’t deserve my tears.” Yuss B. You tell him he can pick up his stuff in a box to the left…after you’ve stomped all over it in some 6 inch stiletto pumps gurrrll.
The song was written by Babyface and produced by Symbolyc One (who produced Kanye West’s “Power”) and will appear on Beyonce’s upcoming album “4” on June 28.
Equally awesome is the cover art for the single which features Beyonce with a Brigitte Bardot up-do and writing “King B” on the bathroom mirror in lipstick.
My favorite line, “Sucks to be you right now,” she belts. Any guy who didn’t realize he had Beyonce when he had Beyonce is dumb. Sucks to be you, but it’s super awesome to be Jay-Z right now.
