Beyoncé, the most "powerful" woman in music at the moment, is performing at next month's Super Bowl halftime show and in expected Beyoncé fashion, you know she's going to be BRINGING IT. Bey-ringing it. All the stops. Like a Destiny's Child reunion, live, for the world to witness together as one human race.
That's the latest rumor anyway and if this were to happen, the Super Bowl probably won't even need to air the last half of the championship match because, game over. Beyoncé wins. Kelly wins. Michelle wins. Destiny's Child wins.
In the beginning, it was just speculation with no weight other than the fact that when Beyoncé's name was announced as this year's halftime headliner, all things seemed possible.
But, with the official word that Destiny's Child have come together to record one new song for their greatest hits compilation album, Love Songs, the report feels grounded in reality now. The Super Bowl is the perfect platform for a debut of new material (and golden oldies) from the R&B trio and their first live performance as D.C. since 2006. That the ladies even titled the new song, "Nuclear" feels like a prophecy.
As of now there's no comment from the group's camp confirming the news, naturally. Why let the Destiny's Child out of the crib now when we can see it walk, dance and harmonize on February 3rd?
