You want a real artist to put on a real show? Beyonce is your woman. The icon put on an amazing show at the 2011 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday.
She killed it last night with her performance of “Run the World (Girls).”
She danced in rhythm to styles, colors, and dozens and dozens of animated Beyonce’s on a large screen behind her on stage. The biggest pop star on the planet knows how to put on an amazing show.
After her performance Beyonce accepted the Billboard Millennium Award and before she hit the stage Michelle Obama, Barbra Streisand, Bono and Stevie Wonder all paid tribute to her during a video montage.
"In addition to being just a beautiful young woman, she's been a role model and a powerful presence for young girls and women all around the world," the first lady said. "I'm very proud of her."
You know you’ve become a legend when the First Lady is praising you on a gigantic screen during one of the biggest nights in music.
Lady Gaga added: “You are so much more than just a pop star or an icon ...you represent the dream."
Barbra Streisand added: "Great performers have a sound and style that is all their own. And that's why so many people love Beyonce.”
In her acceptance speech, Beyonce thanked her former Destiny’s Child bandmates, as well as her husband Jay-Z.
