Football season is only one week in, but there’s already talk about who will play the halftime show at the Super Bowl at the beginning of next year!
According to early reports, the Black Eyed Peas are the frontrunners! According to Dallas sports reporter Brooks Melchior, Fergie and the boys are locked in as the big halftime show act.
This would mark the first time the BAP was the main act during the Super Bowl. But they did play the pre-show I 2005 during the “Bridging Generations” theme of the program. They also performed at the 2009 NFL Kickoff Concert in Pittsburgh.
Reps for the group have yet to comment on the news, which was expected since the halftime performer is always kept under wraps until the last minute.
But we can see why BAP are the frontrunners—they’re on fire right now, and only getting bigger. They have two of the three most downloaded songs ever on iTunes and have three No. 1 hits from their last release.
The Super Bowl will take place at Cowboys Stadium this year. Do you think they’re a good choice?
