Athletes aren’t the only ones coming together for the 2012 London Games. Music genres are too!

Rapper B.o.B and rock group O.A.R. have joined forces to produce a song called “Champions” as part Duracell’s “Rely On Copper To Go For The Gold” program for the summer games. The result is a layered symphony to the athletes who have dedicated their lives to their sport.

The track and corresponding video was released on Tuesday.

"It just seemed so perfect for the message, the brand and the Olympics,” O.A.R. vocalist Marc Roberge told Yahoo! Music Canada. "When you look out along the field, you imagine trumpeters and drums pounding like the opening of the Olympics and that's what we went for."

Prior to Duracell picking it up, Roberge and O.A.R. had been working on the track for about a year with Diji Parq. The track was not completed until the band was called on to create an Olympic hymn.

Immediately, Roberge sought out B.o.B.

"This is an artist that is not just a rapper, not just a musician, not just a singer or songwriter, he's done it all," said Roberge.

Representatives of the Duracell brand hope the genre combo will really “bring home the gold” on delivering their message of motivation.

B.o.B’s second album Strange Clouds was released on May 1. The record features a long list of other collaborations including Taylor Swift, Chris Brown, Lil Wayne, and Morgan Freeman (no, that last one’s not a typo).

O.A.R. just released their own single “Gotta Be Wrong Sometimes” and is gearing up for a US summer tour that kicks off late June.
