Live Earth India Gets Canceled

The Live Earth India concert has officially been called off due to the attacks in Mumbai last week. The gunmen opened fire in hotels, a train station, and around the city, killing over 170 people. Organizers of Live Earth said they felt it was necessary to cancel the show for fear of a breach in security. Live Earth India was designed to bring attention to environmental concerns and bring attention to India’s Light A Billion Lives solar energy program.

Artists like Bon Jovi, will.i.am, and Roger Waters quickly canceled their plans to perform, along with several British and Bollywood acts.

Organizers of Live Earth said in a statement, "Together, we will continue to work for solutions to the climate crisis for the good of the people of India and around the world. But for now, our thoughts and our prayers are with the victims of this terrible attack, with the bereaved, with the people of Mumbai and with everyone across India."
