R&B songstresses Brandy and Monica team up for a new single for the first time in 14 years! The last time they dueted was on their 1998 Grammy Award-winning hit, “The Boy is Mine.”
The boy is mine!? No way, the boy is ours! Together forever! Brandy and Monica in a friendship heart 4ever!
The two ladies will premiere their new video “It All Belongs to Me” on March 5 at 11pm exclusively on VH1.
The new song will be featured on Monica’s upcoming album entitled, “New Life” scheduled to release on April 10th. Brandy’s yet-to-be titled album will also release this Spring.
So far, they’ve released a 30 second teaser for the video and it does not disappoint. In the video, the two ladies play some kind of scorned women and besties who kick out their stupid boyfriends, keeping the car(s), mansions, and expensive fur coats.
It’s like “Thelma and Louise” meets Beyonce’s video for “Irreplaceable.” Nothing like a revenge song to bring two best friends back together again. Remember when they fought over the same man!? Haha, NOPE.
Hopefully they can strike gold again like they did with “The Boy Is Mine,” because that song was great!
It held the #1 spot on the Hot 100 Chart for 13 weeks and was declared the best-selling song of 1998. I mean, Adele could match those numbers in her sleep, but this was back in 1998 when people were still using walkmans and listening to the car radio, so Brandy and Monica made quite an accomplishment.
