Britney Spears is heading to England to shoot her next music video for the single "Criminal."
What does London have that LA doesn't to film a music video? We've got clubs. We've got abandoned warehouses. We've got limos and scenes inside of house parties. Those are the four basic set-ups for music videos, right? Give or take some close-up shots of a fan blowing air through Britney's weave.
I'm a little irked that "Criminal" is the next music video. If you haven't heard the song, it's a mid tempo ballad that uses the sounds of a flute and the chorus is "Mama, I'm in love with a criminal," so interpret that how you will.
Britney is heading to the UK for her Femme Fatale tour, but announced on Twitter that she'd also be shooting her next video there. "Decided to shoot the "Criminal" video in the streets of merry old England when I get there... -Britney"
Britney is all over the UK right now, she just graced the cover of Glamour UK and says, "So excited to stop over in the UK before I start my European tour in a few weeks. Can't wait! I LOVE London, it's like my second home..."
Britney teased at the VMA's what we can expect from the video, "Actually the song, when I first heard it, it's really different and it's not anything I've heard like this before. So I really wanted to deliver this song. I was thinking of a really cool concept for the video just to make it interesting. You'll have to see."
When Britney tours Europe she'll be joined by Joe Jonas, who by-the-way, is blowing up right now. He's also touring the US with Jay Sean and on his off-dates will tour Europe with Britney.
While in the UK, Britney told Glamour magazine that she'd be thrilled if William and Kate came to one of her shows, "That would be amazing. That would be really crazy and cool. I think they're a beautiful couple. Unfortunately, I didn't get to watch the [royal] wedding, but I heard it was beautiful."
Just a hunch, but something tells me Will and Kate are more Adele than Britney. Just a hunch.
Britney just took home the award for Best Pop Video for "Til The World Ends" at the VMA's and since that video just featured Britney wearing a bomber jacket in an abandoned warehouse and being groped by her male dancers, she really doesn't have to do much to impress her fans.
I'm excited to see the "Criminal" video, my bet is on a "house party" style video. With lots of fans blowing, of course.
