Whether or not you like Britney Spears’s new single “Hold It Against Me” doesn’t really matter, because the radio heads around the country have already decided they’re big fans.
According to Reuters, the new single has gotten more airtime than any debuting track in the history of Billboard.
It’s in the rotation at 130 mainstream stations across the country, and it’s being played more often than most other songs. The radio station rocking the most out to Ms. Spears’ new track is KHOP in Modesto, CA.
Program director MoJoe Roberts says, "Over the last decade, Britney Spears has had her ups and downs. But, every time she drops new music, it is an event for the format.”
"We often tend to wait for audience research to come back strong to power up certain hits. This, however, is one of those rare tracks, like Katy Perry's 'California Gurls' or P!nk's 'Raise Your Glass,' that I put right into power rotation after one listen.
"Audience reaction to her new single has been nothing short of amazing. This is another pure pop smash from Ms. Spears."
“Hold It Against Me” is expected to debut at No. 1 on the Hot 100 chart. It was also just announced that the video will be directed by Jonas Akerlund, who has worked with Madonna and Lady Gaga.
Brit got to work yesterday on the music video, and tweeted, "Dance, dance, and more dance. Getting ready to shoot the video for HIAM this week with Jonas Akerlund. Super excited!"
Cannot wait to see this video! It’s been forever!
