I feel like it’s been forever since I heard any news about Bruno Mars? Other than his Grammy nominations and his single “It Will Rain” which I most definitely listen to several times a day, I haven’t heard much in the Bruno Mars rumor mill.
This is what I’m calling, the “Bruno Mars minute.” Start the clock.
First of all, he’s got six, SIX, Grammy nominations. That is one less than nominee frontrunner, Kanye West. He’s up for Record Of The Year, Song of the Year and Album of the Year, to name a few.
Also, Bruno Mars' album “Doo-Wops & Hooligans” which he released a year ago, has made it to the number #1 spot on the Billboard UK album chart. Let me put this another way, Bruno Mars beat out Adele! Adele, the princess of pop music and especially of the UK, who had the number #1 album of 2011 is taking a backseat to Bruno Mars! Adele has been sitting in the #1 spot on the UK charts and as of today, Bruno Mars is back in the number #1 spot.
That being said, Adele also has 6 Grammy nominations, so this years Grammy awards show should be a Bruno Mars and Adele - fight to the finish, not really, but sort of.
Mars has also been racking up awards already. He was recently named “Favorite Male Artist” at the People’s Choice Awards earlier this month, beating out favorites like Justin Bieber, Eminem and Enrique Iglesias.
So that’s what’s going on with Bruno Mars. To see him perform live, check out The Grammys live from L.A.’s Staples Center on Sunday, February 12, at 8 p.m. on CBS.
