Back in November, Cee Lo Green released the single “Bright Lights, Bigger City.” Now, Wiz Khalifa remixed and rapped on the track so they decided to re-release the song and video. However, the new video is exactly the same as the original, except Wiz Khalia is edited in for his rap part with footage that just looks vague enough to make sense in the original video.
The song, “Bright Lights, Bigger City,” is a much different musical turn from Cee-Lo's hit single “F-ck You” and even his days back in Gnarls Barkley. Though it doesn’t have the shock and awe appeal of “F-ck You” it sounds like some kind of futuristic jazz meets jam band R&B thing.
Although Cee-Lo and Wiz Khalifa are fully fledged artist in their own rights, Cee-Lo is mostly known for his “F-ck You” hit and Wiz Khalifa is known for his “Black and Yellow” song. I can already see myself having to explain this song to everyone “It’s Cee Lo Green and Wiz Khalifa. You know, that rapper with the black and yellow song and the guy who sang that song before Gwyneth Paltrow did on Glee.”
The video is slick, we follow Cee Lo as he sings out the window of a limo while he gets transported to some place where he plays some high-rolling metal briefcase wielding secret agent.
There is some obnoxious Remy Martin product placement, just long hazy shots of Remy Martin cognac and champagne taking forever to pour, but giving you enough time to read the label.
