Those are jingle bells attached to Cee Lo Green’s sled of a spinning judge’s chair on The Voice.
The show’s very own Santa Clause is currently working on a Christmas album—an announcement that falls in between a juggling act of other projects like his “Loberace” Vegas show in 2013, developing a sitcom with NBC, and a book.
In a recent interview, the Grammy-winning 38-year-old singer-rapper describes the album, titled Cee Lo’s Magic Moment, as a “soulful take on a host of Christmas classics.” Among the familiar sing-a-long songs to be included are “Silent Night,” “The Christmas Song,” “You’re a Mean One Mr. Grinch,” “White Christmas,” and more.
If you’ve ever heard Cee Lo’s electro-soul cover of folk group Band of Horses’s “No One’s Gonna Love You More Than I Do,” then you know his version of “This Christmas” will have a nice spirited jam to it.
Getting cozy under the musical mistletoe are featured artists Rod Stewart, B.o.B., and Straight No Chaser.
Also, the cover art is pretty rad. Looking like a Lisa Frank folder, on it Cee Lo sits in the passenger seat of a red Rolls-Royce Phantom coupe and is pulled through the celestial skies by three white stallions as gift-wrapped boxes fly from the vehicle’s back seat. There’s also a reindeer in a suit behind the wheel. It all looks like an SNL skit just waiting to be written.
The album is already scheduled to be released on October 30. If you were nice this year, maybe you’ll get one as a gift. If you were naughty, well then, “Forget You!”
