The pair is reportedly going to perform together on American Idol. Uhhh, pretty sure American Idol is only viewed by moms and little girls, two demographics who don’t look so favorably on girlfriend assault, are Chris and Rihanna sure they want to walk into that kind of media backlash?
An insider from American Idol tells E! News, “They want Chris and Rihanna to reunite on the show.”
American Idol is no weird when it comes to getting ratings, so they obviously know that re-uniting Chris Brown and Rihanna live would bring so many eyeballs to their little talent competition.
Just don’t tell Miranda Lambert, she’ll probably come over to the set with a pitchfork.
The performance is still in the very early stages of discussion, but my best guess is that they will be performing Chris Brown’s track, “Turn Up The Music,” as opposed to Rihanna’s super explicit song, “Birthday Cake.”
Even though Steven Tyler makes googly eyes at every blonde contestant under the age of 25, American Idol is still a family friendly show, so I have no idea how a Rihanna and Chris Brown reunion will go over with it’s audience.
Rihanna’s rep denied the rumor, saying, “it’s not true.” Chris Brown just tweeted “I just hope my music inspires people to really come together” so maybe by “people,” he means himself and Rihanna, and by “come together” he means “live performance on American Idol.”
