Coldplay to Release 'Every Teardrop is a Waterfall' Track This Week

They're baaaaack! Okay, so they never really went anywhere, but they were definitely on a break. After a brief hiatus, Coldplay announced that they're going to release a new single this week.

The band will release 'Every Teardrop is a Waterfall' this week from their upcoming fifth album. How exciting!

After posting three videos which showed lyrics from the song as words written on blackboards, an entry on the band's official twitter read: "Enough teasing... we have a new song called 'Every Teardrop is a Waterfall'. Hear it on Friday (sic)."

Part of the lyrics read: "I turn the music up, I got my records on / from underneath the rubble sing a rebel song / don't want to see another generation drop / I'd rather be a comma than a full stop."

Speaking of the new track, lead singer Chris Martin explained: “'Hurts Like Heaven' is all Jonny. It only has two chords. The songs are group-y, its guitar-y. Johnny is coming out of his cocoon. We're just trying some risky things.”

“We're hungry and very fired up. In five years we'll be in our late 30s. You have to have your best work done my then.”

The new single will be available digitally on June 3rd online in the US and the following day in the UK.
