Their fans get so HAM that riots were incited in LA at the Avalon nightclub in 2010 when there were more people who wanted to attend than the club could handle. In 2013, the duo were forced to cancel a show in Miami when fans broke down barricades and riot police shut down the show.
Get to know about the men behind the music that is SO GOOD that fans are willing to break down fences to see them:
When and how did you first decide music was your life?
It wasn't a choice. I just did what I loved and kept on doing it. In the beginning I had no money so I lived on oats and water just so I could make music.
Who gave you your biggest break in music?
It was a friend of mine that sent my tracks to a label. This was back in 2000. I had a bunch of tracks that he thought was really good and I just kept them for myself.
What equipment do you use for production? What about DJing?
We use Ableton live and we love/hate that program. So much right with it and so much wrong... But it's not the equipment that makes the music, it's the guy behind it.
What's the toughest part of the DJ lifestyle and how do you deal with it?
If you can't sleep anywhere anytime, you cannot become a professional DJ. I keep a sleep app on my phone to make sure I get enough sleep.
Because sometimes your super hyped and don't feel sleepy but you actually are. So it's good to keep track on the amount of sleep you get.
How would you describe your process of creating a song from start to finish?
We can start with anything: Melody, fork sound, fat kick etc. We then build the climax of the track and then move backwards towards the break. We’ll sometimes we build an epic break and then build the drop...
Who has been your biggest inspiration musically?
We get inspired from our fans. We see the happiness in their eyes and want to recreate that feeling.
What’s the one song you love playing in your set right now?
Freaks Have More Fun. That's our new single. It's funny tune with a vocal that goes round and round and round "Tonight we are one, freaks have more fun"
Who is your favorite up and coming artist right now?
Andybody, such an amazing talent! He just got his US Visa, so we're bringing him on a couple of shows.
What’s the one food you always include in your rider?
Besides bananas & champagne, protein shakes. We jump quite a lot!
Where do you see electronic music going in the next 5 years?
We have no idea. We make music that we like and don't look in the past.
