Electric Daisy Carnival, the dance and electronic music festival where 300,000 people cram into the Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Halloween costumes and glow sticks, has just announced this year’s line-up.
Here is the list of the initial lineup: Tiësto, Steve Angello, Sebastian Ingrosso, Avicii, Benny Benassi, Kaskade, Afrojack, Above & Beyond, Armin van Buuren, Bassnectar, Calvin Harris, Carl Cox, Chase & Status, David Guetta, Erick Morillo, Flux Pavilion, Kaskade, Knife Party, Porter Robinson and Richie Hawtin.
And that’s just the first phase of artists. More announcements will come in the following days, as there will be enough DJ’s the fill three stages over three days of the festival.
If you aren’t sure what an electric daisy carnival is, it’s basically an outdoor rave/carnival. Like, there’s a tilt-a-wheel next to the stage where David Guetta is playing.
The shows creator/founder Pasquale Rotella says, “We are not a concert. We are so much more than that, it’s about the production, it’s about the art. The music being played is the soundtrack to your experience for the evening. I’ll have over 500 theatrical performers, over 30 carnival rides, hundreds of EDM acts, large-scale art installations, tons of special effects, massive enough fireworks to rival the Olympics…plus much, much, more.”
Rotella is even trying to petition the fire department to allow for an additional 30,000 in capacity.
EDC takes place June 8-10, 2012.
