Like a really great song, this one didn’t seem to last longer than five minutes. It appears the passionate, but brief-lived romance that dropped on September 14 between DJ Deadmau5 and celebrity tattooist Kat Von D already burned out over the weekend.
“L.A. Ink” star Kat, most famous for being a professional serial dater of eyebrow raising dudes like Sandra Bullock’s most regrettable ex Jesse James and sometimes for tattooing things, broke the news and spilt details on her Twitter page.
On Saturday, she wrote the following series of updates that sound about as permanent as her famed inked portraits: “Man.. Can't say I didn't give it my best.” “Man, I sure was wrong. But at least he made it a no-brainer to break that off. #lessonlearned”. “Now, we can get all of the "I told you so's" outta the way... And move on.”
And then in case you still didn’t get the memo, “Clarification: Deadmau5 and I are no longer together,” she concluded directly.
Deadmau5—the electro-popular DJ whose real name is Joel Zimmerman—didn’t remain off the airwaves either. He did his best to explain his POV, owning up with the following it’s-not-you-it’s me alibi: “it happened too fast, i lost my balance and fell into a familiar dark place that im having difficulty with. she deserves someone stronger.” Sadmau5…
Well, at least they sound mature enough; Deadmau5 owning up to his own relationship wafflings and Kat welcoming the criticisms in the wake of the break up, especially since they’ve both been Instagram-ing lovey dovey photos (through the “rose-colored glasses” filter) and tweeting their fling since it started cc’ed THE WORLD.
Anyway, looks like the tears have already been shed and wiped, but none can wash away those matching star tattoos they got under their eyes to commemorate the whole affair.
