It’s a career first for “The X Factor” judge…

Demi Lovato’s new single “Give Your Heart a Break” from her album Unbroken has been making a name for itself, scoring a number one spot on multiple radio play tracker radars.

In the Top 40 format, “Give your Heart a Break” is number one at both Media Base and BDS. The song has been played over 98 million times, and – judging by the way things are going – will likely cross 100 million soon.

No doubt all the magazine covers, online marketing, and now network television appearances on FOX’s “The X Factor” are paying off…

Disney Music Group Executive Vice President, Ken Bunt, shared his congrats with Demi on the achievement.

“We congratulate Demi on this fantastic achievement,” said Bunt. “She has had a remarkable year, and she’s worked tirelessly with our entire staff to reach this milestone.”

“Give Your Heart a Break” currently sits on the number 16 on the Billboard’s Hot 100. The song is also number six on Pops Songs chart.

Demi will be performing the song to kick off this week’s VMAs. Her performance will highlight a groundbreaking red carpet event that will feature – among other things - a two-story structure to house nominees and performers and music by DJ Calvin Harris.

“I'm so excited to perform at the VMA pre-show. I can't believe it!” she said in a statement.

Also performing at the VMAs will be Alicia Keys, P!nk, Green Day, Taylor Swift, One Direction, Rihanna and Frank Ocean.

The pre-show to the MTV Video Music Awards starring Demi kicks off September 6, at 7/6 c on MTV. She will also appear during an extended interview on Katie Couric’s new series “Katie” on September 13.
