When a poppy tween star wants to have their career taken seriously by people over the age of twelve, they do one thing: hire a rapper! Hey, it worked for Rebecca Black. Without that awesome rap break in Friday, that song would’ve just been a piece of…oh, right.
Demi Lovato has been in the studio collaborating with Timbaland. Lovato entered rehab last November for her eating disorder and issues with depression, but she’s bounced back since leaving three months later. In January, the rapper/producer said Lovato was “amazing”, posting a video message on YouTube expressing his desire to work with her. Timbaland even said he had a song in mind for the young star.
His wish came true, and yesterday Lovato went into the studio, tweeting:
“Going into the studio with @Timbaland. You guys ready?!”
After their first session, Timbaland wrote: “Yo @ddlovato you killed dat song i gave u. I just pick 2 more for you from one of the producer out my camp @wizz_dumb for u to do 2morrow. (sic)"
I’m not sure why he felt the need to send this via Twitter when she was right there, but I guess that’s beside the point.
Timbaland’s brother and fellow rapper, Sebastian Mosley, tweeted: “Demi (@ddlovato) is killing it in the booth singing right now. Girl's got a serious voice on her."
