Do you want the good news first? Or the bad news? Good news is, Demi Lovato took home the award for "Favorite Pop Artist" at last night's People's Choice Awards. The bad news is, Demi Lovato performed a new song and it wasn't the greatest performance.
Then again, I'm not a singer, so what do I know? Demi Lovato performed her new song "Give Your Heart a Break" and all I'm saying is, I've watched enough episodes of "American Idol" to know that Randy Jackson would describe Lovato's performance as "a little bit pitchy." Randy Jackson always says that and I'm pretty sure it applies here.
However, none of that matters, because the People's Choice Awards is voted on by the people and the people want Demi Lovato!
After her performance she was handed her award, beating out Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Rihanna and Beyonce. The people have spoken, you guys, Lovato is a better pop artist than all those names I just mentioned, proving that "the people" who vote must definitely be girls between the ages of 7 and 13 and also, Wilmer Valderrama.
Demi was very awe-struck when picking up her award, ""Thank you guys so much" she said. "This award is amazing. The nominees that I was up against are people that I look up to and aspire to be one day, and I won this award because of my fans. So I dedicate this to you guys. I love you guys so much. Without you guys tweeting so many times, I wouldn't be up here tonight. So thank you guys so much. You guys are so amazing."
