Her song wants to give our hearts a break, but who hasn’t been able to catch a breath lately? Demi Lovato.

And no, we’re not talking about homegurl’s hair giving her colorist a break either.

Demi’s single-you-can’t-escape “Give Your Heart a Break” finally hit number one on Billboard following a slow and steady rise up the pop songs charts this past month or two or three.

The former Disney star is finding first love with this new status in her career—receiving her first number single ever. Girl is feeling hella “blessed” from up high.
“The reception for my single is so amazing,” she says to MTV News.

“It’s been going up the charts for a while now and right now I actually have my first #1 single, so that’s really exciting for me. It means so much to me. I never thought I’d be blessed enough to have this opportunity and here I am.”

Demi shouldn’t get too comfortable, though.

She recently received a VMA for “Skyscraper” in the “Best Video with a Message” (yes, that’s a category) and performed “Give Your Heart a Break” on the pre-show.
Now with her debut as a judge on Simon Cowell’s “X Factor” with Britney Spears tomorrow night on Fox, the only place to go from up is…up.
