Dr. Dre Taking a Break From Music

Dr. Dre has been rapping for almost 30 years and after a while, things start to get a little repetitive. He's been doing this for so long, he thinks its time to take a little break from the spotlight and the studio and actually enjoy life.

Dre confesses that once he's finished producing material for two and up and coming rappers, he's taking an indefinite break.

He says, "These are the next two artists I'm working on, Slim The Mobster and Kendrick Lamar. I think that's when I'm gonna just wrap it up for a minute because I've been working on music for 27 years now and the longest I've ever been out of the studio in 27 years has been two weeks.

"So, yeah, I feel like I'm gonna take a little bit of a break. I'm never gonna stop music, it's like air to me. (But) I'm (going to) take a little bit of a break. Enjoy some time with the family 'til I get that itch to get back in."
Dr. Dre: David Guetta Inspired Me to DJ Again
Did you know that before Dr. Dre was rapping on MTV he was a DJ? Yup, he got his start as a DJ for the World Class Wrecking Crew back in the 80’s.

Three decades later, Dr. Dre is ready to go back to his roots and take on the turn tables again. And you’ll never believe who inspired the hard-core rapper---house DJ David Guetta!

"He's passionate about what he's doing," Dre said of Guetta. "I flew all the way to Ibiza, Spain, to check him out, and I saw the show that he put together, and I was blown away, so who better to represent our DJ headphone?"

"Who has helped DJs more in the world than David Guetta?" Interscope Chairman Jimmy Lovine chimed in during an interview with MTV.
