Drake Gets His High School Diploma at 25

How’s this for a rhyme? “Tardiness had me falling behind / Went back to stimulate my mind / It’s never too late to graduate / Accelerate”

Okay, so maybe I’ll leave the rapping to Drake. The brainchild behind Take Care proved this much though when he finally finished his high school education after nearly 10 years of dropping out.

The Canadian rapper tweeted about his recent accomplishment and it must be true. The 140 characters are three sentences have perfect grammar!

The Young Money crewmember even made a point to show his appreciation for the teacher whose been working with him to crush his courses and garner the necessary credits. Teacher’s pet, much?!

At the tender age of 15, Drake ditched his Toronto high school Forest Hill Collegiate Institute for another, the fictional classrooms of “Degrassi: The Next Generation,” where he portrayed disabled basketball player Wheelchair Jimmy for seven seasons.

Always a daydreamer with his sights set on entertainment even as a teenager, Drake actually took the acting job for more altruistic reasons. "My mother was very sick. We were poor, like broke," he said to Complex. "The only money I had coming in was off of Canadian TV, which isn't that much money when you break it down…a season of Canadian television is under a teacher's salary, I'll tell you that much."

The TV Drake graduated from high school in 2009, and now the real Drake follows close behind in 2012. Congrats, Drizzy!
