Drake is the hottest thing in the music biz right now. And his upcoming album just got better.
Drake worked with Stevie Wonder on his second album ‘Take Care’ and he confessed it was an absolute honor. Well, duh!
He told Canadian TV Channel MuchMusic: "Stevie Wonder is a very close friend of mine. I'm honored to call him a friend, someone who embraced me very early in this music business. This is an exclusive right here: Stevie Wonder is actually on `Take Care'."
They worked on six tracks together on the album, which is pretty impressive.
How did this amazing collaboration come together? He said: "I asked him to come by, and with no hesitation he hit me back like, 'I will be there'. Not only that, but he was supposed to do two songs and he did like six. It was incredible.
"He helped me out with a lot of the music, just came and sat with me, listened to my music, told me where I could add a couple things to make it more sonically appealing, and not only that but we actually are writing together, which is an incredible experience."
Most artists can’t even get someone like Stevie’s attention after a half dozen albums, but Drake’s debut album won several Grammys and got critical acclaim, so I’m not surprised that he landed such a big name on his second album.
Who else is on the sure-to-be hit album? Florence Welch aka Florence and the Machine and Jamie Smith from The xx.
‘Take Care’ is set to be released on October 24, 2011.
