One-On-One With Drake

Drake is one of the hottest guys in the rap game right now. Originally from Canada, he’s exploded onto the scene, and is working with some of the biggest names in music, including Jay-Z, Kanye West, Young Jeezy, Mary J. Blige, and Jamie Foxx.

Hollyscoop caught up with Drake on the red carpet for the AMAs, and he gave us the scoop on what he’s up to. We asked him if it was surreal to constantly hear himself on the radio, and he told us, “Its great. I’m working very hard and I’m eager to get all my music back out there. Its cool, I get sick of it. I don’t listen to the radio anymore.”

As for collaborations, Drake has written and performed with a lot of musicians. But he says he likes to keep things in the family. When it comes to new songs, Drake tells Hollyscoop exclusively that he wants to work “With my Family Jay-Z, Wayne, Kanye & Jeezy.” He adds, “I really want to work with Kings of Leon.”

Now that’s a collaboration we’d like to hear! And apparently Kings of Leon already knows Drake is a big fan of theirs. He says, “Yeah huge fan. I am looking forward to seeing them tonight,” referring to seeing them onstage at the AMAs.

Another artist Drake gives props to is the late Michael Jackson. “I don’t know who was not a fan of MJ,” he tells Hollyscoop. “He was one of most inspiring individuals/ great entertainer and I think its great we are celebrating him tonight.”

As for New Years plans, Drake anticipates he’ll be doing exactly what he’s been doing this whole year….” Probably work to be honest, that is all I do these days.”

Well, his hard work is definitely paying off! Up next, Billboard has just confirmed Drake will be collaborating with Alicia Keys on her new album entitled Freedom.
