BBC 1Xtra, the "UK's leading black music station" has released their 1Xtra Power List which ranks the "Top 20 Most Important UK Artists In The Scene for the last 12 months."

Number one on the 1Xtra Power List is ED SHEERAN. Ed beat out Disclosure, who took the number two spot, Tinie Tempah, who took number three, and Sam Smith, who took number four.

Both fans and artists (including Wiley, 16th most important) took to Twitter to express their confusion with the rankings:

Ed Sheeran has yet to comment on his ranking on 1Xtra's Power List. However, a BBC spokesperson had this to say to clear up the confusion:
"Artists were considered on variables such as sales statistics, quality of music and impact across the wider industry – it is not about the colour of someone’s skin."

Take a look at the full list here.

What do you think? Is this list accurate? Is Ed actually the most influential artist in the black and urban music scene? Let us know what you think in the comments section.
