Amidst rumors that he’s been working on collabs with Gaga (not true) and Pink (true), Eminem’s been doing some work for himself.

Before a New York City performance on Thursday, Em told Sway Calloway that he’s been spending hours in the studio working on his first solo album in two years.

"I've actually kinda just started. I've been on the move a little bit too; so I've in between things, sneak songs in here and there. We actually just finished the [Slaughterhouse] album last week... Now I've got time to be able to start doing things for my own project."

His last solo release, Recovery, was the best-selling album of 2010, so it could turn out to be a very good year for Shady,
Slaughterhouse, Eminem’s hip hop super group, is Crooked I, Joe Budden, Joell Ortiz and Royce da 5’9”.

They signed to Eminem’s Shady Records last year, and announced the release of their first Eminem-produced album, Welcome to: Our House on August 28th. Eminem also admitted that he had “stolen” Dr. Dre’s “little tricks,” during the interview.

It was a cathartic day for Em: later in the evening, he thanked his fans for their support during his battle with addiction at the Hammerstein Ballroom gig, which was opened by Slaughterhouse.
