It’s the ultimate Eminem memorabilia: the rapper’s Detroit childhood bungalow is for sale.
Fans will recognize the property, located at 19946 Dresden Street (just south of 8 Mile), from the original cover of Eminem’s The Marshall Mathers LP. And, while the home is vacant and currently in the hands of the Michigan Land Bank, a quick Google maps search reveals that the estate is still standing, albeit boarded up and a tad overrun by local greenery. Just think of it as a fixer-upper.
And if that pic really doesn’t sell it for you, consider this glowing review by the Detroit Free Press:
“The house is one of more than a dozen abandoned and burned-out houses in a once-thriving neighborhood near East State Fair, just east of Hoover. The metal porch roof and downspout are missing; the fake stone facade is stained.”
Bids as low as $1 are being accepted to purchase the property. Locals reportedly would like to see Mathers himself purchase it and invest in the area. That is, if a superfan doesn’t snatch it up first.
