'Glee' Star Darren Criss Might Replace Daniel Radcliffe on Broadway

Darren Criss, one of the breakout stars of Glee is in talks to replace Daniel Radcliffe in the Broadway show “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.”

If his Glee commitments will allow it, Criss would takeover Radcliffe’s role in the musical from Jan. 3 to Jan. 22, however it would mean missing filming for an episode and a half of Glee. This is a big deal, especially now that Criss’s been promoted to series regular.

Glee should just write his character going away for an episode to have his wisdom teeth pulled or something. I feel like that’s an annoyingly “Glee” thing to do.

It’s no doubt Criss will do well on Broadway, he sang one Katy Perry cover on Glee and is now more popular than Finn, hot Mohawk guy, and big-lip guy combined.

Call it fate or just a funny twist of events, Criss’s first claim to fame was his starring role in a musical version of the Harry Potter films called “A Very Harry Potter Musical” which quickly became a youtube sensation.

It would be a very cool/weird coincidence if Criss replaces the original Harry Potter actor in the musical. Confusing Harry Potter references aside, this has a lot of symbolic significance.

It’s said that Glee creator Ryan Murphy is very encouraging of Criss following his Broadway dreams and the show made exceptions for the other cast members taking time off to film movies.
