Guns N' Roses’ new album Chinese Democrazy finally hit stores yesterday after only 14 years in the making. And even though it’s not being sold in China, it’s already facing opposition in the country. A newspaper published by China’s ruling Communist Party is calling the album an attack on the nation.
The newpaper article in the Global Times reads: "American band releases album venomously attacking China.” Others are describing the album as part of a plot to “grasp and control the world using democracy as a pawn.”
We think China needs to lighten up a little when it comes to music. We’re pretty sure Guns N’ Roses doesn’t have much of an influence on anyone these days, and we highly doubt they spent the last decade and a half scheming to take down China.
